Child Safety Standards
NIPPOCHAT has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to every part of the Service: profiles, posts, comments, chat rooms and messages.
1. Adults only
NIPPOCHAT is only for people aged 18 and over. Users must provide their date of birth when creating an account. Accounts that we identify or that are reported as belonging to minors are removed.
2. What is prohibited
- Any content that depicts, promotes or normalises the sexual abuse or exploitation of children, including drawn, animated or AI-generated material.
- Sexualised content involving anyone under 18, or anyone who appears to be under 18.
- Grooming: attempts to build a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes.
- Sextortion, or requests for sexual images from anyone.
- Trafficking, or any offer involving the sexual exploitation of a child.
- Sharing links to, or asking for, any of the above.
Sexual content of any kind is also prohibited on NIPPOCHAT for adults.
3. How to report
- In the app: use the report option on the profile, post or message.
- By email: safety@nippochat.com. Include the username and a description. Do not attach or forward illegal images.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the local police first (in Japan, dial 110).
4. What we do
- Reports involving child safety are reviewed with the highest priority.
- Violating content is removed and the accounts involved are permanently banned.
- Confirmed CSAM and credible threats to children are reported to the relevant authorities, including the police in Japan and, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
- We preserve information as required by law to support investigations.
5. Compliance
NIPPOCHAT complies with applicable child safety laws, including Japan's Act on Punishment of Activities Relating to Child Prostitution and Child Pornography and the Protection of Children, and cooperates with law enforcement.
6. Child safety contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety matters is Mike Henri, reachable at safety@nippochat.com.
